The genesis of the company
EKOLAN was established in 1997 by Andrzej Biernacki and the company of EKOL. More than ten years of experience in housing construction of Ekolan’s founder (including a complex of mansions of  Gdynia Hill , an estate of single-family houses of  Wzgórze Bernadowo , the first apartment house in the Tricity  Villa Vert ), and also the pioneer role in the real estate market in the Tricity, have made Ekolan specialize in housing construction.

The first building
In 1998 Ekolan passed the first single-family house in Świętopełka street, in Gdynia Orłowo to its residents and then the first multi-family building in Kamienna Góra.

Ekolan builds a new district of Gdańsk  POGODNE
In 2000 Ekolan, as the first one of the Tricity’s developers, commenced implementation of a new multi-family development - Osiedle Pogodne in Gdańsk Ujeścisko. By the end of 2008 around 1000 flats were built there.

Ekolan commissioned by the City of Gdańsk to construct
In 2003 Ekolan accepted a commission from the City authorities for construction of flats in „turn-key” standard in Zimna street intended for victims of flood. Under this development 43 flats with living areas from 31 square metres to 64 square metres were passed to their residents.

Construction of the multi-use and residential complex - Witawa
In the years of 2002-2003, in cooperation with another Tricity’s developer Ekolan worked on implementation of the Witawa project, an 18-storey building which was the first one built in the Tricity after the year of 1989. Within the project there were 460 flats and a shopping centre. Located in Gdynia Witomino, not only does the complex stand out with its magnificent location but its architecture and technology. The project won a the ‘The Construction of the Year’ award and Czas Gdyni/Gdynia’s Time/ award.

Horyzont   uniqueness and character
In the years of 2004-2006, in Gdańsk Przymorze in Obrońców Wybrzeża street, in two stages, three high-rising buildings were constructed to form a complex of 387 flats called Horyzont. The project stands out against the background of the surrounding drab housing projects with modern architecture and also panoramic glass display windows from which you can enjoy the view of the city and the sea. The building won the first place in ‘The Facade of the Year’ 2007 competition in the category: a new building and the ‘The Construction of the Year’ 2007 award.

10 years with Ekolan
On 13 January 2007 Ekolan celebrated the tenth anniversary of its existence in the market. Special thanks are addressed to our well-qualified team of specialists, keeping watch on the course of individual developments, owing to whom Ekolan can be proud of the fast rate of implementation of its construction projects. Within these 10 years we cooperated with more than 300 people and 100 contractors, most of whom is still with us.

Three thousand flats
For twelve years of its activity EKOLAN has passed around three thousand flats and houses in 16 completed developments to their residents. From intimate single-family houses, through multi-family housing estates, as for example Pogodne, up to such spectacular developments as Witawa and Horyzont, which gained appreciation of jurors of numerous trade contests.

Plans for the future
The aim for the coming years is Ekolan to introduce new quality standards which will fulfil residents’ expectations resulting from the contemporary city lifestyle. Ekolan’s housing estates stand out with resident-friendly architecture well-combined into natural landscape. The estates’ green areas are designed to provide a good state of mind of our clients and fulfil their need for relaxation , without going to the country. We want our estates to be places not only conducive to leisure but also to build good neighbourly relations and creating a community in which one neighbour greets another one in a friendly way.
